Apply for this roleBuild for the real world.
HyBird builds industrial spatial AI, bringing facility models, equipment, drawings and operational workflows into a shared context for people working at a desk and in the field. We’re building towards industrial autonomy, with dependable software as the foundation.
Mobile puts equipment, drawings and operational information in the hands of people working in industrial plants. You will develop and maintain our native iOS and Android apps, turning field needs into clear interactions and dependable data flows. The work includes spatial and augmented reality experiences, field capture and connected operational workflows.
You will work on problems grounded in operating facilities, with the opportunity to shape useful capabilities and see how people use them. Explore our research journey and our technology and customer work.
What you’ll own.
- Take mobile features from understanding the operator’s need through interaction design, backend integration, real-device testing, release and maintenance.
- Develop the native apps in Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android. Work with SwiftUI and UIKit on iOS, and Jetpack Compose on Android.
- Make sign-in, permissions, secure sessions, field capture and interrupted-connectivity behaviour dependable on real devices.
- Own repeatable builds, signing, beta distribution, App Store and Google Play releases, performance investigation and crash diagnosis.
- Use AI to expand what you can build. Maintain project rules and API context, review generated changes and independently test critical user journeys.
What you’ll bring.
- You have personally shipped and maintained a substantive store-published mobile app and can explain your contribution and what happened after release.
- You have strong native mobile engineering experience, with depth in Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android and demonstrated ability to build, debug and release on both platforms.
- You understand backend API integration, secure sessions, permissions, interrupted connectivity and real-device performance.
- You can maintain automated tests, signing and release workflows, and diagnose crashes and platform-specific failures.
- You can show a substantial mobile capability built with AI tools, including what you corrected and how you verified that it worked.
Useful experience
Experience with ARKit, ARCore, camera or spatial applications would help. We also value accessible interface design and experience with field applications that must work through unreliable connectivity.
We value evidence of your own work, independent thought and clear communication. You can share private work through a walkthrough; a public portfolio is not required.
Your first 90 days.
Deliver a useful HyBird mobile journey on Android and iOS, taking it through beta and store submission. Verify sign-in, permissions and interrupted connectivity on real devices, and leave a repeatable build, test and release process another engineer can follow.
We’ll agree the initial scope and measures with you, based on customer priorities and the systems you inherit.
