AI-Native Product Engineer

Build for the real world.

HyBird builds industrial spatial AI, bringing facility models, equipment, drawings and operational workflows into a shared context for people working at a desk and in the field. We’re building towards industrial autonomy, with dependable software as the foundation.

You will take a customer problem from discovery to a working product capability. Work across HyBird, its APIs and connected systems, with responsibility for the code you ship and how it behaves after release. Your focus is building capabilities the product can reuse across customers.

You will work on problems grounded in operating facilities, with the opportunity to shape useful capabilities and see how people use them. Explore our research journey and our technology and customer work.

What you’ll own.

• Work with customers and their technical teams to understand the real problem, define a useful scope and ship a solution across HyBird and connected systems.
• Build reusable features and integrations with clear permissions, authentication, data mapping, retries and failure handling.
• Own your changes through deployment and support: tests, observability, incident diagnosis and recovery.
• Use and improve the AI-assisted delivery workflow with the Principal Engineer. Maintain specifications and context, verify generated changes and leave an understandable handover.

What you’ll bring.

• You have personally shipped production software in a coherent stack, including APIs, authentication and relational data.
• You can operate cloud infrastructure, containers and CI/CD, and have diagnosed and recovered from a real production issue.
• You have translated a customer need into a working integration with dependable permissions, retries and failure handling.
• You use AI development tools extensively and can show how specifications, tests, evaluation and review improved the result.
• You can challenge an initial solution, explain trade-offs clearly and take responsibility for the software after launch.

Useful experience

Experience with enterprise systems, industrial workflows or spatial information would help. Show the scope of work you have owned rather than relying on a fixed number of years or a previous title.

We value evidence of your own work, independent thought and clear communication. You can share private work through a walkthrough; a public portfolio is not required.

Your first 90 days.

Ship one focused customer workflow into real use. Show that an integration or production failure can be diagnosed and recovered, and improve one AI-assisted delivery workflow against a baseline. Leave tests and a handover another engineer can use.

We’ll agree the initial scope and measures with you, based on customer priorities and the systems you inherit.
